Can I include special characters when I Import data into Procurify?

Question:

  • Are there any potential consequences of importing templates into Procurify with special character symbols?

Answer:

If you are experiencing issues with special characters, the import file may need to be a UTF-8 to import special characters. There can be issues with imports when the CSV file encoding is not set to UTF-8.

This is a common issue when files are created in Excel because it uses Windows-specific formats by default that don't work seamlessly with Procurify. For more information on Microsoft Excel formatting, see Import data from a CSV, HTML, or text file [external link]

If you are using Excel and still experience issues, you could attempt the following:

  1. From the Menu bar, navigate to Data β†’ From file β†’ From Text/CSV and select the Get Data tool

  2. Select the CSV file you want to import/read.

  3. Select 65001 Unicode UTF-8 and set the delimiter as comma
