How to update Locations via Imports

Goal:

  • Importing and updating Locations using the importing tool

  • Import via a CSV file for bulk import

The following article outlines how to update Locations using a .CSV import. Please note that the Location must have been imported into the system before it can be updated using the following method.

This article refers to “Location” and “Department”. Your domain may have different labels due to custom organizational categories.


Steps:

  1. Navigate to SettingsExport Data

  2. Click Prepare CSV next to Locations and click Export CSV

  3. Navigate to Settings Import Data and select Download Template next to Locations

  4. Open the export CSV file and copy and paste all the column data into the import template. Ensure all columns are in order

    • The ID Number must be included on the import template, or a duplicate location will be created.

  5. Update the data applicable fields and save your file.

  6. In Settings → Import Data, click Import CSV File next to Locations.

  7. Click Upload to select your file and click Import.

If there were any errors, make the required changes before re-uploading the CSV. You have successfully finished the import!
