How to update catalog permissions in bulk via imports
Updated over 9 months ago

Goal:

  • Updating catalog permissions using the import feature

This article refers to “Location” and “Department”. Your domain may have different labels due to custom organizational categories.

You must be a Superuser or have custom permissions to access the Import Settings to complete the following steps.

Important: The import only allows users to add new permissions to existing catalog items. It is not possible to remove permission settings in bulk.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Import Data

  2. Locate the section for Catalog Permissions and click Download Template.

  3. Copy the exported catalog items onto the template.

  4. Add applicable Location/Department tags to the CSV file. Use keyword **ALL** (include asterisks) in the Department or Location columns to allow catalog access to all Departments and all Locations.

    • Ensure that there are no special characters in the CSV file such as ™ , µ , ®, ©, {, or }.

  5. On the Import Data Settings page, click Import CSV File next to Catalog Permissions.

  6. Upload the file from your computer and Import.

Success! You've updated catalog permissions.
