Goal:
Change the name of a department, Edit a department name, and Adjust an existing department name.
This article refers to “Location” and “Department”. Your domain may have different labels due to custom organizational categories. Learn more here.
You must be a Superuser or have custom permissions to access Manage Locations settings to complete the following steps.
Steps:
Navigate to Settings → Manage Locations
Select the applicable Location
Click the Departments tab
Click the 3-dot options button [...] to the right of the department, then select Edit Department.
Edit the department name
Once complete, click the Edit Department button to save
Additional Information:
Important: Each department must have a unique name and cannot share the same name as another department, including those previously deleted from the domain.
