Question:

  • What happens when the Budget value is 0?

The following article pertains to Legacy Budgets. See this article for how to identify which version of budgets your domain is currently using. If you wish to upgrade from Legacy Budgets to our newer version of Budgets, please reach out to a Procurify representative.

  • Putting a value of $0 as your Budget will mean you will have $0 spend.

  • If you do not want a Budget, or the Budget should have unlimited spend then no Budget should be assigned.

Having $0 budget input into the system and having Budget Overage toggled ON allows customers to track their budget, enabling customers to see spend without blocking the actual purchases. This is helpful for customers who want to build budgets in the future but would like more visibility of their spending going through Procurify.

When a budget is set to $0, and the Budget Overage toggled off, then the Approver will not be able to approve the request at all; this is a hard stop in Procurify. If the budget is set to $0 and the budget overage is toggled to ON, the Approver will be prompted with the following warning message within the domain, but it will still allow the approver to approve the request.
