Issue:
Opps some entries can't be imported
QBD error regarding account code parents
Cause:
A child Account Code is being imported without a parent Account Code in the system first. If you have subcodes or child Account Codes, you must create an entry for the parent Account Code first.
Account Codes can have both parent and child account codes. If the parent Account Code is 5000 Office Supplies, the sub Account Code maybe 5100 Paper. In this example, the parent Account Code 5000 Office Supplies must import before the child Account Code 5100 Paper can import. Account code designation and numbers differ from account to account.
Resolution:
The error message means that the parent code needs to be imported first, before the child code. Import the Parent Account Code, then the Child Account Code can be imported without error messages.
