Restrict the amount that an item can be changed in value by a purchaser.
Limit the cost difference that can be adjusted by a purchaser.
Set how much a purchaser can edit when creating a purchase order.

What is a Purchase Price Variance Limit?
You can limit how much a Purchaser can increase/decrease the cost of items during procurement by setting a Purchase Price Variance Limit.
Examples:
Dollar Variance: if Pat has a variance limit of $50, they can only change the price of an item by up to $50 above the approved item price.
Percentage Variance: if Jenny has a variance limit of 10%, she only increase the price of an item by up to 10% of the approved item price.
How to set/edit price variance limits:
You must be a superuser or have permission to manage users to complete the following.
Navigate to Settings → Manage Users
Select the applicable user.
Click the Edit Information button on the right-hand side.
Ensure that Limit Purchase Price Edit Variance is toggled On from the right-hand side.
Select the drop-down to determine whether the variance will be logged as a currency value or a percentage value.
Enter the variance limit.
Select the blue Save Changes button.

Purchasing permission must be given to a user before you can assign Limit Purchase Price Edit Variance option from their user page.
