    Hi Richard,

    Absolutely!

    First question:

If you've tied the department to an account code, you can add a budget.

In the Settings, under Finance > Manage Budgets, find the department that you're looking to add a budget to. Click on the department.

You'll see a list of your departments tied to account codes, on the right hand side, there will be an ellipsis menu. There will be a dropdown to edit the budget. From there, you'll be able to add a budget to your created department.

    Second question:

That is correct, you'll need to go into the Settings > Manage Account Codes to add a new sub-code before being able to add a budget.

    Hope this helps!

Hi Jessica, thanks for your reply!

What do you mean by "If you've tied the department to an account code"? We use departments to track Projects instead.

Second: Apologies perhaps I was unclear but you've misunderstood my second question. Here it is again in a little more detail: When I import a budget via CSV, the CSV obviously includes account codes with budgeted values assigned to each one. If there is an account code that wasn't included on that CSV, is it possible for me to add that line item (that account code and budgeted value) to the Department's budget, directly inside the Manage Budgets page, without importing another CSV?

    Thanks

    Hi Richard,

Apologies on the confusion! To clarify, within the Manage Chart of Accounts, there is the ability to add a department (project) in your case.

For the second question, you'll need to add the account code and budgeted value in separate places, not in the Manage Budgets page. You'll need to add the new account code in the Manage Chart of Accounts, assign it to the project and then go into the Manage Budgets page to assign a budget to the newly added account code and project.

    Hope this helps,

    Jess
