What happens to historical data when a custom field is deleted?

Question:

  • What happens to data when a custom field is deleted? 

 

Answer:

Historical custom field data is maintained on the orders in the backend even if the custom field is disabled. However, the deleted custom field will no longer display to users. 

 

Additional Information:

  •  Disabled custom fields are not available for export, only enabled ones are.
