How to update catalog permissions in bulk via imports

Goal:

  • Updating catalog permissions using the import feature

Important: The import only allows the user to add new permissions to existing catalog items, but it is not possible to remove permission settings in bulk.

Steps:

  1. Export all Catalog data from Procurify.
  2. Download the template, available at the bottom of the following article, titled Catalog Permission Import.csv. Copy those catalog item names on a new Catalog import CSV template.
  3. Add any new Location/Department tags to the CSV file. Use keyword **ALL** (include asterisks) in the Department or Location fields if you would like to allow catalog access to all Departments and all Locations.
  4. Select Settings.
  5. Select Import Data.
  6. Select Import CSV next to Catalog Permissions.
  7. Upload the file from your computer and Import.

Success! You've updated catalog permissions.

Additional Information:

  • Why isn't my CSV formatting saving?
  • To download the import template directly from your account. Select Settings → Import Data → select Import CSV next to Catalog Permissions → and select Download Template.
  • Do not include any special characters in the file such as ™ , µ , ®, ©. Also, { and }.
