What is it?
Procurify allows you to apply customized labels to Organizational Categories. This means that you can personalize your account for your organization's unique needs. There are two levels of organizational categories: primary and secondary organizational categories.
What was it like before?
Procurify organizing requests and spending by Location and Department. This is the standard labelling for all accounts. Procurify recognizes that not all organizations are carbon copies of each other. Hence, why you can now update the naming convention.
What to consider before you relable?
Once you've relabeled your Organizational Categories, Procurify will display your new labels instead of Location and Department.
Consider the following when creating a new Customized Organizational Category:
- How Budgets are to be managed and reflected.
- If you're not using Budgets, consider how roles and permissions are managed in your organization.
- How projects are structured.
- Do you want Account Codes to be restricted from certain groups? Account Codes can be restricted or locked at the secondary organizational category.
Determine the naming convention that works best for your organization. You can update the organizational categories via settings. Access the step-by-step guide here. Please note, special characters are not allowed. Alphanumeric characters only. The character limit is 15 per category.
Examples of different naming conventions:
Education Location → Department Family → Student |
Research Organization Location → Department Lab → Project |
Single Location Company Location → Department Department → Team |
