Budgets are optional - What does this mean?

What do I have to do?

If you don't rely on budget limits or end dates in Procurify, no changes are required. When a budget expires you will no longer run into issues creating new orders.

If you do rely on budget limit end dates, you can continue to renew and/or update your current and future budgets as normal.

What was it like before?

Previously Procurify users were not able to create new requests immediately. If a budget limit and end date had not been set and linked to an account code, no requests could be made on the system.

In addition to this, when these budgets expired it meant requesters could no longer request from that account code. This caused issues for Requesters as it seemed the account codes had ‘disappeared’ or was "missing"

What have we changed?

We have now made budgets optional. This means that users can start making requests faster and with less set-up hassle. All that is required now is the account codes and departments set-up, then linking them together using Manage Chart of Accounts.

Expired budgets will no longer cause issues either. Requesters can still create requests, even if the budget has expired. This change will help customers continue to make requests without any blockers.
