Why can't I increase the item price within a Purchase Order?

Question:

  • Why can't I modify or raise item prices when creating a PO?
  • I'm seeing an error message when I am trying to adjust the price of an item within the Procurement tab, why is this?

Answer:

If you are unable to raise the item price when creating a Purchase Order, you will most likely receive the following message:

"The new unit price for order item [item name] surpasses user's purchase variance limit"

This means that your administrator limited your possibility to modify the item price when creating a Purchase Order.
