Is there a way to disable self-approval?

Question:

  • I don't want to allow my approvers to approve their requests. How can I do this?
  • How to set up approvals for my approvers?

Answer:

It is possible to turn off self-approvals. You will need to contact your Procurify representative. They will make this change within your account, and they will be able to explain the benefits and implications further.

Please note the following, if self-approval is disabled, and the Requester is also an Approver (Level 1). The submitted request will automatically go to a level 2 Approver and skip level 1. This is true even when there are multiple Approvers at level 1.

If, however, there isn't a level 2 Approver, and there are multiple level 1 Approvers, the Requester, who is also an Approver, submits an order request, the order request will go to an alternate level, 1 Approver.

Additional information:

  • Only superusers and/or champions can request to turn this feature off.
  • Disabling Self-Approval will remove this ability for all Approvers within the account.
